My preferred party cocktail doesn't call for simple syrup (I'd probably burn it) or ten ingredients (huh?). I like a simple recipe that can be multiplied and prepared ahead so the only thing shaking when the guests arrive is my ass to Mariah Carey's Christmas album.
We created this drink for our holiday party. It's fresh, not too sweet, and a little bit dangerous. I'm typically not one for vodka (I'm a gin lover) but the addition makes it boozy enough without overshadowing the other flavors. I quadrupled this recipe for a two gallon dispenser and added some extra cranberries and rosemary springs to the side for garnishing. Festive and super simple.
- Two bottles Pinot Grigio (or white wine of choice)
- 6 ounces vodka (equivalent to four 1.5 ounce jiggers)
- 1 cup sparkling apple cider
- 1/4 cup cranberries, halved
- 1/4 cup cranberries, whole
- Two rosemary sprigs
Combine all ingredients into pitcher or dispenser and refrigerate for at least four hours. Serve chilled or over ice. Serves 8-10 conservatively, 4-6 festively.
